Hello all,

first I find soundsnap amazing and it really has helped me out. This might be a simple question but I thought you all could help. What I want to do is taking a music sample and break it down by each sample. What I mean is for example take this http://www.soundsnap.com/node/36487 and have each sound piece (guitar, piano) of what makes it up.

Is this simple to do?

Thanks!

Hi Hitachi. Thats virtually

Hi Hitachi.

Thats virtually impossible with any kind of software.

You can use equalisation to 'mix-out' some frequencies, but you can't achieve a perfect seperation of the instruments.

However, software company Celemony has done some great steps towards this direction with 'Melodyne' and a technology called 'Direct Note Access'.
